FIBRO at MSV 2026: FETU brings thread forming up to speed

From 6 to 9 October 2026, FIBRO will be present at MSV in Brno at booth 059, hall G1. The focus is on FETU – the electronically controlled thread forming unit for stamping and forming tool making. FETU: Electronic tapping unit for stamping and forming tools

FETU stands for FIBRO-ELECTRONIC-TAPPING-UNIT and was specially developed for thread forming in stamping and forming tools. Unlike mechanically driven thread forming units, FETU works independently of the press or lifting movement. The drive and control are completely electronic. This opens up new possibilities for the design and optimization of stamping and forming processes – especially when high stroke rates and short cycle times are required.

Up to 170 strokes per minute – with integrated process monitoring

A key strength of FETU is its high process speed: With speeds of up to 8,000 rpm on the thread former, up to 170 strokes per minute are possible. At the same time, FETU enables 100 percent process monitoring without additional sensors. In this way, thread forming processes can be reliably monitored and integrated into the production process. For users, this means one thing above all: finished components with threads at high cycle rates. Thread forming is integrated directly into the stamping or forming process – without an additional downstream work step.

Flexible use – from tools to automation systems

FETU is not limited to classic stamping and forming tools. The technology is also suitable for automation systems and punching/bending machines. The system also offers flexibility in configuration: In addition to various standard forming heads, solutions up to multiple spindle heads are available. This allows FETU to be adapted to different requirements and applications.
